While Stoke Holy Cross Fish & Chips enjoys numerous accolades, some diners have mentioned the occasional wait time during peak hours, which can be challenging if you're hungry. It's advisable to manage expectations and plan for a little extra time. Since the establishment only accepts cash payments, some customers find this inconvenient, especially in a world increasingly skewed toward card transactions. It's worth noting for first-time visitors to bring cash, as credit cards are not accepted.
Additionally, a few patrons wish there were more indoor seating options, especially during busy periods. However, the outdoor vibe can also be enjoyable on a sunny day, albeit not ideal when the weather turns.
Overall, these matters are minor in comparison to the overwhelmingly positive food and service experience.
This is one of the best fish & chips in the area!! Incredible chips, cooked perfect! Not too oily! The curry sauce is amazing!!! Ahh I can’t recommend them enough!! 10/10! Cash only as well!
Good quality food - really nice chips In spite of well publicised increases in the cost of fish, prices do not seem to have gone up by much
Just enjoyed haddock, chips and peas from this shop and it was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly, with crisp batter and nice chips.
What a great little place , excellent fish & chips at a reasonable price . Very clean with excellent service
The best fish and chips in the local area, sometimes a bit of a wait but it's worth it. Also thoroughly enjoy the salt and pepper chips for something different on occasion.
First visit here and had small cod and medium chips and was very happy with the portion size which was enough for me and I thought price was good. Hot as well. I had checked that they were open ( Tuesday teatime ) as many chippies in smaller places are only open weekends and was pleased that they were.
Have visited here a few times lately and I must say this has become my favourite fish and chip shop. Portions always good, chips are crispy even after the journey home. We've had sausages, cod , haddock and the spring roll which is my favourite. I feel this is the best fish and chip shop in the area and happy to travel a little further to get a good meal.
